His POV

I never meant to leave you lost and alone,

To watch your spirit wither, like a fragile stone.

The coffee's aroma, once a promise of home,

Now a bitter reminder, of where I once roam.

I too yearn for silly fights, our late-night stroll,

For sharing secrets, heart and mind and soul.

I miss the comfort of your hand in mine,

As we danced to rhythms only lovers find.

Believe me, love, the ache runs just as deep,

A constant sorrow, where memories sleep.

I yearn for your touch, your laughter's warm light,

To chase away the shadows of this endless night.

Forgive me, darling, for the hurt I've caused,

For breaking the vows that we once embossed.

If wishes were horses, I'd ride back to you,

To whisper "I love you," and make our love new.
